Extruded rubber is a good method of compounding and curing rubber when the desired product is given to being run in continuous lengths of the same cross section. Like shapes fabricated from sheet rubber, tooling costs are relatively low in general, and the process is very versatile insofar as rubber compound and configuration ranges go. Extruding can often be combined with other post-cure processes like cutting to length, punching holes, die-cutting notches, vulcanizing, etc., making it a good alternative to rubber molding in some cases. We manufacture Extruded Rubber Profiles in sizes ranging from .095″ diameter to a cross section of up to 12″. Extrusions cover the full range of rubber polymers as well as closed cell sponge profiles. We extrude in a variety of colors and materials including EPDM, Neoprene, Silicone, Santoprene, Polyisoprene, Nitrile as well as closed cell EPDM, SBR, Nitrile and Neoprene sponge.
Profile extrusions in sponge form | sponge rubber extrusion
Sponge Rubber extrusions have profiles that are made by continuous extrusion and vulcanization – LCM, UHF, etc… for peroxide cured rubber or by discontinuous extrusion and autoclave (steam) vulcanization. These methods have their specific advantages and limitations. All methods are available. We will ask for the application of a rubber profile so all ins en outs of the profile can be taken into account in the earliest possible stage of development. This essential information allows us to choose the right method of production, the necessary tooling and a rubber compound that will do what is is supposed to do. We specialize in custom design and specification of high quality solid rubber compounds like neoprene, EPDM, Nitride, SBR, and Silicone Santoprene just to name a few.
*** For some of our extrusions we do require a minimum purchase amount, the amount will varies depending upon the extrusion.
Custom profiles can also be designed in any size and in many different compounds, and offered in small runs for all OEM and aftermarket applications
Our rubber extrusion range covers the following products:
- solid rubber profiles
- expanded or sponge rubber profiles
- silicone rubber profiles
- mandrel vulcanization of hollow profiles
- coiled vulcanization
- edge protection and sealing profiles
- low friction rubber profiles
